Amazed to find I've seen every one of these films, and I'm far from a horror buff. Admittedly, at least half I saw before puberty on old weekend horror movie shows on television. But these are all extremely effective motion pictures, no question. I likewise saw RACE WITH THE DEVIL late night on TV and that ending is seared into my memory.

Best horror flicks I've seen in the 21st Century are Na Hong-jin's THE WAILING, Jennifer Kent's THE BABBADOOK, and, just a couple months back, Cameron & Colin Cairnes' LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL. That last one was not just a good movie, it was an exhilarating example of how creative minds can still deliver an original idea on a low budget and hit the bullseye.

Okay, I've watched both Witchfinder General and don't really see it as a horror, wasn't my cup of tea though I did like Price in it. It is Masque of the Red Death that I really liked, it was quite good thanks for recommending it!
